Which is sort of like babysitting . . . art! And a mighty fine way to spend a grey and rainy Saturday afternoon. And what I got to do at the Marin Arts Council's "Small Wonders, Large Luxuries" show yesterday.
Here's the correct address: 906 Fourth St. (instead of the 904-4th St. I listed on my mailers, and in the post below. Duh.) in San Rafael.

Here's walking inside, getting your first look around.

One of the loveliest things about yesterday was chatting with my fellow sitter,
Gail Caulfield, an artist and art therapist, about what doing art does for people -- from kids, to inmates at San Quentin. Here is one of Gail's pieces in the show, "Brown Dog." Which, because of my own brown dog, I especially love. And the little red inside-of-his-mouth.

Was also delighted to spot work from my West Marin neighbor-down-the-street Kathy Piscioneri. (And you can check out her goods for sale on Etsy
here.)

You know Bean Up The Nose Art is a big fan of
hearts. Loved these, by Antonia Larson.
And these pieces by Kate Barrengos are also awesome. Gotta love someone who can see the artistic beauty and value of a pot in the sink.

Next gallery-sitting time is this Friday. Yay! Show runs through January 8. Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Lots of goodies to get for your holiday gift-giving needs.
