Blowing Anne's horn

What a gorgeous and lucky way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  After what feels like forever of rain and fog and grey here in the Bay Area . . . a spotlessly blue afternoon with temps in the 60s, driving out through the green hills of West Marin and landing at The Dance Palace in Pt. Reyes Station -- the funky, hip and happening town's non-profit community center, home to all kinds of classes and terrific weekly performances.

And, getting to see there, the opening reception for fellow West Marin paper artist Anne Hillsley's show.  Yay, Anne!!!

All of the pieces look great in the sweet, open, light space of the Dance Palace's lobby gallery.  And folks were loving hearing Anne explain her work methods.

Love the abstract freedom, the way the colors and shapes live together and on top of one another, the way the energy moves and is corralled at the same time.

Nice job, Anne!  Hoping y'all will do yourself a favor this winter and make the green, green, green-hilled trip out to Pt. Reyes Station and see this show at 503 B. St.  For more information, call The Dance Palace at (415) 663-1705.
